Insta Lately

I may not be doing a great job at blogging consistently as of late, but one thing I am good at is Instagram. I may be slightly addicted to the little app, and have recently imposed restrictions as to how many times I can look at it daily (10).

My dad and I went to Lynd's Fruit Farm to pick some honey crisp apples before they sold out. Last year I had to fight (not kidding) for one of the last pre-picked bags,  so we made sure to get there on the first day they were available for picking. From what I hear the honey crisp were all picked out by the end of that day!

My favorite sweater for fall? This little gem from C.Wonder that has my two favorite prints all wrapped into one (perfect) sweater.

My brothers and I headed down to 'The Shoe' a few weekends ago to watch the Buckeyes absolutely stomp all over Kent State. I loved that it was unseasonably cold that weekend, so I was able to wear my Homage Script Ohio sweatshirt.

The Shoe - such a great atmosphere.

Last weekend I managed to get my hands on an iPhone 6 (read my review here). I was kicking myself for not pre-ordering so the day after they were released I went online and found I was able to pre-order one at my local Apple store for pick-up the same day. If you're looking to get one that's definitely the fastest way - you get to bypass that crazy line!

The Blue Jackets started their pre-season this past week, so Sam and I headed to Nationwide Arena to watch the Jackets battle the Pens. We also happened to match... in 'blue jackets' nonetheless.

Insta Lately

Lately life has been a little too hectic for me to blog consistently, but I have been able to post snapshots of my life and outfits on Instagram. Here's a few of my favorites...

I went a little overboard when the BRxMarimekko collection was released and tracked down four different items from the collection - I'm obsessed!  I don't shop at Banana Republic too regularly because some of their prints seem a little too "plain" for me, which is why I snatched up all of the fun, bold prints from this collection! Oh, and the fit on this dress? Perfection.

We got some crazy storms the other night and ended up with a double rainbow (you can only see one of them in this picture, but I promise there was another one).

Last Monday was "National Pink Day", and I coordinated my outfit accordingly with Kate Spade and some OPI Neon nail polish (Hotter Than You Pink). I searched absolutely everywhere for the OPI Neon collection, but couldn't find them at any of the salons I usually buy my OPI polishes from. I ended up ordering this color along with a few others from Amazon, and they are so fun... more to come on those soon.

I had a lot of questions on Instagram asking where this t-shirt was from. To answer all of your questions it is from Homage, and they have shirts for other countries in the World Cup available as well. They're one of my favorite Columbus brands - I bought one of their sweatshirts last year, and now they're the only brand of sweatshirts I'll wear!

I did a little shopping during the Kate Spade Surprise Sale a few weeks ago and scooped up the Ellina Dress. I also cyber-stalked this Kate Spade sweater on Nordstrom for a few weeks until it went on sale, and they pair perfectly! Kate Spade sweaters are my go-to for work - they fit so well, are comfy, and keep you warm in those chilly offices (even though it's 90+ degrees outside).

My family's favorite restaurant, J.Alexanders, has started to add brunch items to their weekend menu, and the waffles are the bomb. The strawberries are soaked in vanilla, there's a whipped chream/champage sauce on the side, and heavenly applewood smoked bacon. I die.

Comment with your Instagram name - I would love to check it out!

Insta Lately

Well, this "Insta Lately" post isn't quite as colorful as my last one... I am desperately missing the Florida sun, beaches, pools, and Lilly Pulitzer-esq colors.

However, I've still managed to find some fun in Columbus, and am soaking up every colorful macaron, bright nail color, and cute neon sign that I can find until spring rolls into town...

Yesterday I went to lunch at "Melt" with a co-worker. What's on the menu at Melt? Grilled cheese... and every bizarre grilled cheese combination you would never think of on your own. I was completely boring and got the "Kindergarten" which is just normal grilled cheese, but it was the biggest sandwich I've ever eaten... it's been a full 24 hours and I am still soooo full.

Yeah, the weather here? This face explains how I feel about it.

I must admit though... I was pretty excited that I got to pull out my favorite J.Crew raincoat for work on this particular day - fun coats can make even the worst weather a tad bit better.

I went back to my college (Miami University) a few weekends ago to visit my brother for his birthday, and I walked around the new student center - it is AMAZING. This 50s style diner is in the new student center, and it is a dining hall that's open late night... I would have been here all the time.

Insta Olympians (Who to Follow)

I love watching the Olympics on television, but what I love even more is getting to know more about the athletes and what their Olympic experiences are like from social media. This is the first Olympics where Instagram has been really popular, so I've compiled a list of some of my favorite Olympic Instagram accounts.

Meryl Davis is one half of the Davis-White Ice Dancing team. I didn't know too much about Meryl Davis or Charlie White before this years' Olympics, but they've quickly become two of my favorites to watch, and Meryl seems sweet as can be. (Oh, and they're the favorites to take gold).

Charlie also has an Instagram account. You can follow him @charlieawhite

Gus Kenworthy won silver in Men's Slopestyle, and has been raising awareness about the stray dog problem in Sochi. This family of dogs had been following him around Sochi and he's in the process of getting them vaccinated and cleared to fly back home to America with him. Insert "awwww" here.

Another notable Men's Sopestyle medal winner to follow: @NickGoepper

Hannah Teter already competed in the Halfpipe competition, but the pictures/videos she's taken are too cool not to share. She uses a GoPro to take pictures while she's snowboarding, and they're pretty unbelievable.

Gracie Gold is an 18-year-old American figure skater who's adorable. She's been pretty active on Instagram (even posting pictures of fancy local ice cream - yummm), and she still seems star struck by the prestige of the Olympics, which results in pictures that really show the glamour of the Games.

Another person who's posting a TON at the Olympics (but isn't competing) is Nastia Liukin. Nastia is an Olympic gymnast who is working as a NBC Sports Commentator, and she posts some great shots of what it's like to be a (high profile) spectator...with a ton of behind-the-scenes access at the Olympics.

Insta Lately (Vacation Recap)

I just got back from visiting my grandma in Venice, Florida. If you follow me on Instagram you've seen all of these pics, but for those who don't here's what went down on vacation via my Instagram

If you don't already you can follow me @emilydelong

Do you see the pillow on the bottom row? There's one for every state! You can learn more about them in my blog post from last week --> Catsudio Embroidered Pillows

Siesta Key Beach was gorgeous as usual... there's not much not to like. Except the seagulls who stole my seashells - not a fan.

Our favorite lunch spot, Crows Nest, looks out onto this gorgeous view. It's so fun to watch the boats so by while you're eating their 'Famous Fist Sandwich'... seriously, so good.

I'm a HUGE macaron fan. In Columbus my go-to spot is Pistacia Vera (you can read my post about them here), but I love trying flavors Pistacia Vera doesn't have when I stumble across new macaron shops. While we were at St. Armands my mom and I stopped in Le Macaron and I tried the Strawberry Key Lime and Coconut...yumm.

The last day of our trip the temperature was only supposed to get up to 63 degrees, but I was determined to enjoy my last day at the pool, so I walked over fully expecting to freeze to death. In actuality it was probably the best pool day of the whole week - there was no wind, no clouds, and I was extremely warm in my bikini.

(Nails = OPI "Over and Over A - Gewn" from the Gwen Stafani collection)

The sunshine bridge, while so pretty, meant my vacation had come to an end when we drove over it on our way to the Tampa Airport.

Insta Lately

My life lately.... (via Instagram).

Working in Columbus' Arena District has really put me more in touch with the city I was born and raised in. Growing up I always stayed in the suburbs, but now I love going out and exploring/supporting Columbus businesses like Homage, The North Market, and Pistacia Vera.

(All of which tend to end up on my Instagram quite frequently).

I wore calf hair Kate Spade flats on Thursday, and then it snowed while I was at work... definitely not ideal conditions for flats and/or calf hair.
I also wore this J.Crew sweater on Thursday and was told the shoulder embellishments look like the angel the Grinch made for Martha May Who.

I can't say I disagree...

Insta-Lately

My favorite Instagrams from the last few weeks:

For once I actually got to post a picture of something I cooked on Instagram! I made reindeer noses a few weeks ago (you can find the recipe here) - they are legitimately the only thing I know how to make. While we're on the subject of baking though... those cookies in the bottom right corner? My co-worker MADE them. They were absolute perfection, and so so tasty.

This was by far my favorite Insta out of the bunch. I had been eyeing this sweater on J.Crew's website for a while, but it sold out super quickly - which is why I was thrilled when I found it under the tree on Christmas morning.

Insta Lately

The Christmas Instagrams are starting to roll in... I have a total of two in this week's batch - can you spot them? I've been trying to Instagram more often, because I have a serious Instagram addiction, and am on it all the time anyway  but unfortunately my life isn't Instagramable as often as I would like it to be.

Yes, that is a selfie that you see in the lower right hand corner. I'm not quite sure what got into me that day, but if I had to guess I'd say more selfies are in my Instagram-ing (that's a word by now, right?) future.

Who knows, maybe I'll even have to buy this (amazing) sweatshirt.

But seriously. I really, really love it.

Lately...

Things have been super busy for me with my new internship, classes, homework schedule, workout schedule, etc.... My personal life really hasn't been too eventful as of late, but I thought I'd update you on what I've been up to.

I've been wearing lots of bright colors to combat this dismal February weather

I've been changing my cell phone wallpaper on a daily basis - 3initials is such a great app

It's been snowing....and now melting

Like I said, lots of bright colors...

Watching lots of Miami hockey - there's only 3 more home games in the regular season :(

I've been missing my puppy so much. I make my mom send me a daily picture.

What have you been up to lately?
(p.s. you should follow me on Instagram)

Silent Sunday

(Well mostly silent)

Here's some pictures from my week off of my Instagram - I'm thinking about making this a weekly thing, what do you think?

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful day with your loved ones, and took time to remember the reason for the season.  No matter what gifts were under your tree today God has given us the greatest gift of all in the form of his son, Jesus Christ.

Weekend in Instagrams

I spent the majority of the weekend at my school's ice hockey games (we are now ranked third in the nation) and watching movies with a certain boy on Sunday :) Here's some pictures I took throughout the weekend...
