Homage Boot Wraps

Yesterday I introduced you to Homage Boot Wraps (essentially cell phone cases for your boots), and today I'm going to show you/review my new boot wraps!

After watching the video I was pretty confident I was going to be able to put the boot wraps on, and sure enough it was as easy as Lily made it seem.

I love these mainly because they're cute and fashionable; people have even asked me if UGG started making new soles for their boots. However, I'm also slightly anal about keeping my boots nice and clean, and these provide an extra barrier against boot-sabatoging elements.

The boot wraps are also fun to mix and match with my different boots, and I love how they give each pair of UGGs a different look.

Sizing: When ordering Homage Boot Wraps you purchase the same size as your boot.

p.s. these would be a perfect last minute Christmas present/stocking stuffer if you still have a few people to check off of your Christmas list!

{Weekly Find} Homage Boot Wraps

I got my first pair of Uggs when I was in 7th grade, and to this day I still wear them... 

along with the 9 other pairs I've acquired over the years. Yeah, I'm somewhat obsessed.

So when I logged on the Nordstrom website a few weeks ago and saw the Homage Boot Wrap (basically a phone case/fashion accessory for your Uggs) I knew I had to have a pair.

This need was further verified when I saw them in person at my local Nordstrom last week.

Homage is a new company (just a little over a year old) that was founded by Lily Smith and her father Jeffrey Smith. Oh, and get this... Lily is only a junior in high school. Lily has a hand in just about every aspect of the company from social media all the way to working on the designs.

One thing that stands out to me about Homage is that they do a great job of communicating with their followers on social media (you can follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). All in all they make you feel like you're a part of the brand and not just another customer.

#1 Stocking Stuffer

This summer my mom gave me a pink Emi-Jay hair tie that was supposed to not leave lines in my hair, and lately it is all I have been using.  I love that I am able to just throw up my hair between classes or during an exam and not worry about completely ruining it for the rest of the day. Plus they come in some fun colors.

I love the Jaguar Collection, the animal prints are too fun and nobody would mind having one of these on their wrist.

They also sell headbands. I'm not sure if I would wear these as an everyday headband, but for working out I think they would be absolutely perfect.

Finally, they have some Satin Bow Hair Ties. These are a little pricy  at $18, but would be so cute in a low ponytail or at the end of a braid.

The hair tie my mom gave me has gotten a little to worn out, so I'm hoping I get some more in my stocking from Santa this year. Have you tried these yet?

Happy Socks

I've always loved socks. In middle school I went through a phase where every time I went to Target I had to buy a pair of toe socks. I absolutely loved them and would wear them in the winter with my sandals to swim practice. As I've gotten older I've ditched the toe socks (ok ok, I may wear them occasionally) but I do enjoy wearing patterned socks underneath my riding boots.

Madewell has the most adorable socks on their Christmas gift guide.

I discovered that the socks on the Madewell website are actually from a brand called Happy Socks. It looks as though some of the patterns Madewell was offering have sold out, but the Happy Socks website has a variety of cute options. The socks pictured above were two of my favorites. 

These would make such a great stocking stuffer; I know I'm hoping to find some in mine!

How To Wear....

Colored tights.


I stumbled upon this chart by Lucky on Tumblr and thought it was super helpful (at least for me). I always think it is difficult trying to find good ways to wear colored/patterened tights and this gives some great combinations.

I love the black and fuchsia paired together for holiday parties, the fuchsia adds just the right amount of fun to a classic black skirt or dress.

The brown and rust would be perfect for Thanksgiving dinner with the family. However, I don't think I have the right skin tone to pull off this color combination.

I'm also loving polk-a-dot tights and glittery tights. I think they are fun little touches for those who don't feel comfortable in something as bold as colored tights.

Kate Spade Cold Weather Gear

It has been so cold this weekend, and unfortunately Miami doesn't like to turn the heat on in the dorms this early, which has got me thinking of one of my absolute favorite parts of colder weather (insert Zac Brown Band singing here).... the outdoor accessories. I love absolutely everything - hats, earmuffs, mittens, leather gloves, scarves, even socks...(when I was younger I used to buy all the seasonal toe socks from target - mmmhmmm I was that girl) and Kate Spade is absolutely killing me with their cold weather accessories.

Although these mittens were also available last year I think they are so cute (and funny) However, I'm a hesitant to buy them because it seems as though they add a new pair every week!

  

This is the "Sidewalks of New York Scarf" - it's a little pricey, so I don't think it will make it's way into my loving dorm room but I think the idea of it is really cute and fun - especially for New Yorkers!

This wasn't necessarily my favorite color available (there is also a black glitter and a creamy color) but it shoes up the best to s how all of you girls. Last year I saw someone with a cute little ear warmer headband that had a flower on it and I thought it was adorable. If worn with the bow tilted to the side I think it could be a great addition to my winter accessories.

 

I'm usually not a hat kind of girl but this one is too cute. My brother loves hats that have the little dangle-y things and I think I may have to take the plunge into the trend with this piece!

The Real Deal

On friday mother sent me an e-mail from Anthropologie with this picture in it :

Despite the fact I have been holding off on buying a Lilly Murfee Scarf for a year now because they are "too expensive" I ordered this scarf .05 seconds after receiving the e-mail.

I now have my very own Missoni on it's way to my loving dorm room. Next up Lilly. Who would have thought that after buying my first scarf from Nordstrom a week ago I would become an addict.

I See Spots

Leopard is obviously everywhere this fall. And although I am a full supporter of wearing a leopard sweater, shirt, jacket, ect... I realize not everyone wants to/feels they are able to wear leopard in such large quantities. Thankfully there are also tons of leopard accessories to satisfy your leopard cravings in smaller doses. Personally, I have picked up a leopard headband, skirt, shirt, and umbrella. However, what I'm really loving is the leopard belts and shoes.

All of these belts are from J.Crew and are a great way to participate in the leopard trend in a subtle way. I can't decide if I like the wide or skinny version better, thoughts? Has anyone bought one?

As I said, I also love the idea of leopard print flats but haven't come across the perfect pair yet. Although, I did find these two that I plan on checking out when I head home or possibly ordering.

These are actually my favorite out of all the leopard flats I've seen - I don't think the picture really does them justice. They are made by Lucky Brand and you can find them here .... I would order these in a second but they are sold out in my size.

Outfit of the Day: Father's Day

I had to laugh when I was taking this picture because I realized that all my outfit of the day posts have been from sunday. Because literally the only time I am not in a swimsuit is when I'm going to church or working at the restaurant. And as you can see from my lovely tan line I have not been wearing bikinis - its all one pieces for coaching and guarding :) My stomach is white....and trust me, nobody wants to see my tummy until this girl looses some weight.

On Saturday between lifeguarding and working at the restaurant my grandma and I stopped my a local boutique and bought a ring and bracelet that are made by Mariana. It's always fun to have some statement jewelry since I tend to stick with my everyday TIffany necklaces and earrings so these caught my eye pretty quickly.
