Bobbi Brown (New + Old Favorites)

Well, this is what happens when you procrastinate buying new makeup... for months.

I hate spending money on makeup, but can't deny that Bobbi Brown is the makeup that works best for me. For the past few months I've been keeping my makeup routine pretty simple: foundation, powder, bronzer, and eye shadow, but I thought I would try incorporating some of Bobbi's newer products (as well as some of my old favorites) into my everyday routine.

The Bobbi Brown Art Stick is too cool for school. It's basically a giant, chunky colored pencil that you can use as lip liner (if you're into that), lip color, as well as blush. To be honest, I have no idea how to use this as blush but supposedly you can.

I was originally intrigued by this because I have rather larger lips and find that regular lipstick tends to bleed a little outside the line of my lip, and this fab little art stick allows me to really get close to the edges and draw in the line. Plus, it's super cute.

I rub my eyes a lot throughout the day. I know I shouldn't but I find myself doing it all of the time, and subsequently all of my eyeshadow rubs off onto my hand. Unless.... I wear Long-Wear Cream Shadow underneath my normal shadow. You can most definitely wear this alone as well, but I find that it works great to layer it underneath another eye shadow that you love ( I layer the Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in "Sunlight Gold" on top).

I actually used to use this every single day, but completely forgot about it after I ran out and procrastinated buying a new one. I'm sooo glad this is back in my life.

I used to use Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner that came in a little pot that you applied with an extremely fine brush - I loved the gel, but the application time was extensive and I oftentimes would mess up and have to wash it off and start all over. Which is why I about died when I saw that Bobbi created gel eyeliner in a stick.

It is PERFECT. I have such a hard time finding eyeliner that stays on (this stayed on all day + through my workout), has a thin tip, and is easy to use. Bobbi's Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner meets all my criteria.

Brightening Nudes

Bobbi Brown has been spot on lately with their makeup and their ads.

I've received two e-mails this week advertising their "Brightening Nudes" makeup and there is absolutely nothing not to like. The colors are soft, sheer, and glittery - literally making it look as though your skin just naturally glows.
Plus they are just so girly

My favorite pieces from this line are the sparkle eyeshadows and plan on picking one up next time I'm home - I have more makeup than I know what to do with, but who can resist colors as pretty as these?

Neons and Neutrals

About a week ago Bobbi Brown released their Neons and Neutrals collection. I'm usually really boring when it comes to my makeup, but with the bright colors in this collection I couldn't help but try at least one of them out.

The neon colors are pretty crazy - and bright, especially for lips. I really wish I was brave enough to try the neon pink lipstick, but unfortunately I am not so I decided to try out the "cosmic pink" lip gloss instead.

My neon gloss came in the mail from my lovely mother this week, and I wore it for the first time to my friends birthday party on friday. To my surprise I think I really pulled it off. It definitely wasn't as bright as the lipstick would have been, but it was still very different from colors I usually wear.

Would you wear something this bright? What do you think of neon makeup?

Here She Is...

Last night the 2012 Miss. America Pageant was on. Although I do enjoy watching the big pageants I can never sit through the whole thing, so I found myself switching back and forth between the pageant and the Broncos v. Patriots game.

I thought that Miss. Wisconsin (now Miss. America) Laura Kaeppeler was absolutely stunning, although I did miss the interview portion so I can't speak on her personality or response.

I honestly thought that all mascara was waterproof by now, but apparently the one Laura picked was not - poor girl. Honest mistake, which honestly makes me like her even more. Not everyone is perfect, including Miss. America.

The Grab and Go Bag

I don't know about all of you, but I find myself switching bags numerous times a week and I get so tired of having to transfer everything from one bag to the next. So a few months ago I created my "Grab and Go" bag.

I use a candy wrapper wristlet that my mom got me from Nordstrom last Christmas and inside of it I keep lipgloss, gum, a Hello Kitty compact, and Bobbi-to-Go makeup kits. This way when I'm switching bags I can throw this and my wallet in and be good to go - and I know  I haven't forgotten anything?

Do you do something similar? What would you put in your "Grab and Go"  bag?

Lipstick Guide

I've never worn lipstick (with the exception of dance recitals) and very rarely wear lipgloss despite the fact that my mom swears by it and buys me more glosses every holiday, birthday, trip home, ect...

But after looking at this "lipstick guide" that I stumbled upon on tumblr I'm very intrigued...

Who knew there was a different lipstick shade for every occasion? I feel like I'm missing out on a very important chance to make a statement (and buy some more makeup). What are your thoughts on lipstick, do you wear it?

Bobbi To-Go

When I went home for fall break last weekend (our fall break only consists of one day by the way, whats up with that??) I found this little Bobby To-Go kit waiting for me on my dresser.

A little background here, my mom is amazing at finding things that most people have never heard of - I honestly think she should be in charge of putting together Oprah's "O-List" every month (that's the whole reason we subscribe to the magazine, right?) I check the Bobbi Brown website regularly and have never seen this "Bobbi To-Go" kit but of course mom discovered it at Nordstrom and picked it up.

It comes with a mini lip palette and mini eyeshadow palette. They are absolutely perfect for throwing in the longchamp, a wristlet, in the car, ect... They both have great color options and are super compact.

Have you ladies seen these anywhere?

Say Yes To....

Carrots......In chapstick.

I was at Target the other day and stumbled across a tinted chap stick called "Say Yes to Carrots" I don't like lipstick or lipgloss so tinted chapstick is pretty much made for me so I went ahead and picked it up. When I got home I googled the name and checked out their 'about us' page on their website....

"Founded in 2006, Yes To is a consumer-inspired line of hair and skin products born out of a desire to make you look and feel your most happy and radiant. Yes To combines high-quality organic fruits and vegetables with a special mineral elixir derived from the Dead Sea to nourish and hydrate naturally. With four unique collections - Yes To Carrots, Yes To Tomatoes, Yes To Cucumbers, and now Yes To Baby Carrots - the Yes To family addresses a variety of skin and hair needs to help people find their own "recipe" of products. And the best part is, not only have we found a way to offer all of this incredible quality at a very accessible, guilt-free price, but a portion of all Yes To proceeds has been dedicated to the Yes To Carrots™ Seed Fund, a non-profit, 501(C) 3 organization helping to make a difference in people's lives through sustainable agriculture."

Have you guys heard of this brand before? I bought the "Sunset Pink" Lip Tint and really like it so far :)

QVC Addict - Tarte Edition

Just ordered this Tarte Cosmetics set off of QVC.  I'm really excited to try it all out, I'm a Bobbi Brown addict and I'm sure I won't be straying away from her anytime soon but maybe I'll find a good product or two in this eight-piece special value offer :)

I mean if Carrie Underwood uses it, I'm all for trying it. Plus, apparently it's all natural.  I'm particularly excited about the shimmer product that she says makes her skin glow....maybe her skin secret is finally revealed in this product?

Has anyone else tried this? I'll let you know what I think once I try it out.

Philosophy

One of my mom and my favorite skin care brands is Philosophy. They offer so may different products including shower gels, lotions, makeup, and skin repair treatments. Whenever it is on QVC my mom and I find ourselves dialing in for every other product. However, one of my favorite things about Philosophy is that on every product there is a inspirational message.

This is my favorite mkeup remover. It is so convenient and what makes it even better is you can use it to clean off your eye makeup! I always hated having to use special eye makeup remover.

This is my favorite scent from Philosophy called Amazing Grace. It has a really light smell so you can use it for perfume, shower gel, and lotion and not be overwhelmed by the smell.

I have never tried the lipgloss but the packaging is always adorable so I thought I would share anyway.

Twirl

I received the new Kate Spade perfume, Twirl, for Christmas, and I'm absolutely in love with it. Every time I've worn it I have noticed myself walking around smelling my wrists for the rest of the day. Definitely one of my favorites.

What perfume do you love?
