Lilly APS Sale: January 2020

BREAKING NEWS: The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale will be JANUARY 6-7th
and will start early in-store on the 4th & 5th!

how it works:

As soon as 8AM EST hits the sale starts. Some people (the first to click) will gain access to the sale immediately and the rest will be put into a virtual line. Lilly only allows so many people access to the website at a time to prevent it from crashing like it has many times in years past. Last year I typed in the website URL at 7:59AM and was placed 34,000th in line.... it took about 45 minutes until I was able to gain access to the site. As frustrating as it was to wait once I was on the site everything functioned super smoothly!

why is it such a big deal?

Nothing ever goes on sale on Lilly's website. You can find items on sale every once in a while in stores, but that's about it. This is one of 2 sales Lilly does every year (the other being early September), and the discount is huge.

tips and tricks:

check out the site - notice anything you were loving is now missing?? That means it’s most likely going to be included in the sale! Styles that are still available will most likely NOT be included in the sale!

I've noticed that accessories, old gifts with purchase, and printed popovers sell out FAST - probably because they're the lowest price point and just about everyone can wear them well.

If the surprise sale is sold out of something you wanted check the signature store websites (example: ocean palm.net) .  Typically even 6pm.com, Zappos.com, and other websites will join in on the fun and offer some discounts as well.

Browse through popular styles on the website and read the reviews - that way when the sale starts you won't be trying to figure out what the fabric is, what size to buy, etc.

Have your credit card information saved prior to the sale starting to save some extra time -  make sure you do it the day before though, because they shut down the website several hours in advance of the sale.

It may take longer for your item(s) to arrive, but shipping is free and it's worth the wait! Last year they said it could take up to three weeks, and I received by item on the very last day of that time frame.

Remember... sales are FINAL

Best of luck, ladies! What items will YOU be on the search for?

Kendra Scott Trick-or-Treat 2017

Today is Kendra Scott's Trick-or-Treat Sale!

For those unfamiliar with the sale they hide discount codes throughout the website that you have to search for. Sometimes they're easy to find and other times they're hidden within the page of a specific product. I've combed the website this morning and am sharing all of the codes I've found right here.

15% off one item: BLACKCAT
20% off one item: COSTUME
BOGO 30% off: SPOOKY
15% off total purchase: MIDNIGHT
Buy one bracelet get one 30% off: CANDY
Extra 30% off one sale item: COBWEBS
BOGO 40% off markdowns: BAT
$100 off one fine jewelry piece: MAGIC
$15 off Carinne Earrings or Cory Necklace: BOO
buy one nail lacquer get one free: WITCHES
20% off one ring: SCREAM
25% off Crystal Gray Illusion styles: SCARECROW
30% off one home good item: PUMPKIN

p.s. while you're shopping think about buying a piece from the breast cancer collection - for every piece purchased they gift a piece of jewelry + a handwritten note to a woman battling breast cancer. I bought the Pink Drusy Elisa Pendant Necklace at my local store and got to write my own note!

Lilly Pulitzer + Kate Spade Sale Updates

PSA: My favorite dress from Lilly Pulitzer's fall collection is 40% off at Nordstrom.com right now (along with multiple other dresses). If you're not familiar with the Lilly brand they hardly ever go on sale, and when they do they fly off the shelves fast so I would snatch theses up while you still can!

Kate Spade's October collection just rolled out in-stores and online, but Nordstrom is already starting to post items from the November collection for pre-order. I love these two bags  (left, right) - it's going to be impossible for me to choose between the two (plus whatever else rolls out in next month's collection.)

Speaking of Kate Spade... right now all sale is an additional 25% off with code 'SWEET' - I've been eyeing these two dresses for quite some time, and with the additional percent off the prices may just be too good to resist. Which is your favorite? The chambray or the leopard?!

Labor Day Sales

vineyard vines - extra 30% off sale
This tassel necklace is included and is a steal at $69.99. I ordered this popover shirt that I've been eyeing for a while, and my favorite shep shirt is also on sale... it's beyond me why it hasn't sold out yet; the colors are absolutely stunning.

At the last minute I through this men's sweater into my cart. I wish they had made a girl a women's version, but I have seen multiple girls style this sweater in great ways!

kate spade - extra 25% off sale
I have this dress and this necklace sitting in my shopping cart now. I'm trying to resist the urge, but I don't think I'm going to be able to. My favorite sandals and new wedges are also on sale now for fantastic prices.

draper james - extra 30% off sale
Been anxious to give Reese Witherspoon's new clothing line a try? Now is the perfect chance. Draper James is offering 30% off sale, which makes the dresses pretty reasonable! You can find out more about the brand here

kiel james patrick - 25% off site wide
KJP rarely offers more than 15% off their merchandise, so this is a great deal. I think I am going to snatch up one of their pearl bracelets. I've had my eye on them for a while! Now I just need to choose one....

There are obviously a lot more sales going on this weekend, but these are the few I've been perusing pretty frequently. J.Crew is also offering 30% off most items, but of course the 2 things I really want are excluded. Oh well...

Lilly's After Party Sale {Officially Announced}

YAY! Lilly has finally officially announced that their big summer sale will take place tomorrow at 8AM. For those of you unfamiliar with the sale it's one of only two they have online each year, and their website crashes almost every year due to the popularity. Popular items are gone in a flash, and the prices are fantastic.

Some people even take off work to shop this sale...

This 'virtual line' is going to throw a wrench in the plans of people who's strategy is to select a few items, check out, select a few more items, check out, etc.. In the past this was a good strategy to ensure you don't lose any of the items in your shopping bag while browsing for more prior to checking out.

It sounds as though the 'line' is going to make you wait to enter the website again, so the best strategy is to try and grab everything you want in the first swoop, and then maybe go back and explore what else is available afterward.

Prior to the sale starting (I would suggest sometime today as the website will probably go down tonight in preparation for the sale) make sure you create an account and load your payment information. This saves a lot of time when you're trying to quickly check-out during the sale.

If you're unfamiliar with Lilly sizing (as it tends to change each year) I would read the reviews of items currently on the website and fill out the true-fit guide to help make sure you're choosing the right size in the sale items as they are all final sale. While the items available on the website now probably won't be included in the sale a lot of the dresses/shorts/tops that will be are the same styles... just different prints.

Most importantly....

I always try to not buy too much during this sale. It gets so hyped up that in the heat of the moment you feel like you need to buy everything because the prices are so great. Don't. If there's something you really love then get it, but I try to not just buy to buy. Living in Ohio I can only wear Lilly for a few months of the year, so by the time next summer rolls around I'm sure there will be a new batch of items I'll want even more.

Fall Favorite: Leather Jacket

For years I have been in search of the perfect leather jacket. I was a competitive swimmer for 16 years, and unfortunately I still have the broad shoulders to prove it.  At times it's seemingly impossible to find a jacket that fits my broad shoulders and short arms while also fitting my torso properly.

A few weeks ago my mom, grandma, and I popped into our local J.McLaughlin store and I immediately grabbed the 'Ryder' jacket and gave it a try. The fit (and look) was perfection. The quilting makes the leather jacket work appropriate, but thrown over a slinky, black dress it's perfect for a night out on the town.

Jacket: J.McLaughlin | Sweater: J.McLaughlin | Necklace: Stella & Dot

The black and gold striped sweater I have on is also J.McLaughlin, and although you can't see them very well in this picture there are sparkles throughout the gold! It's the perfect sweater for the upcoming holiday season (can you believe it's almost November?!), and pairs perfectly with this Sutton + Somervell necklace combo.

Oh, and I almost forgot! The jacket (along with all of their other outerwear) is 30% off through midnight  tonight. Run, don't walk.

Kate Spade Surprise Sale

I've been patiently waiting for a Kate Spade Surprise Sale for about a week now (I can sense when there's one coming - it's a gift), and sure enough this little gem was posted on Facebook tonight:

I was hoping that the sale would include more clothing items from the Paris collection along with some fun jewelry, but unfortunately most of the items were relatively old and there weren't many shoes or dresses included. However, I still managed to find a few things I'd like to add to my closet (I know, it's hard to believe)...

I think the Wray Dress is perfect for work - it looks so chic and comfortable, but I'm kicking myself for not trying it on at the store to know how it fits.  The Cory Dress is a little unrealistic for my lifestyle, but you can't deny how adorable it is.

I just recently bought the Goreski Glasses Bangle, and this "Tie One On Bangle" would pair perfectly with it. Oh, and it's only $39 (originally $78).

They also have a few of the older book clutches included in the sale. I own this Great Expectations one, but the Romeo and Juliet clutch is looking pretty tempting as well.

Did you buy anything from the sale?

Kate Spade Friends & Family

Today is the LAST DAY of Kate Spade's Friends & Family Sale. With the exception of the Kate Spade Surprise Sales this is about as good as it gets with 25% off of absolutely everything, so if there's something you've had your eye on I would snatch it up now.

Some of my Kate Spade favorites:

The Edith Dress is my favorite Kate Spade dress of all time - it is sooo much prettier in person, and is super flattering on every single person I've seen try it on. I'm literally counting down the days until I can wear it on Easter (it's still cold here).

The Della Wedges pair pretty nicely with everything in the store - definitely a good neutral-colored shoe for all Spring/Summer.

The Topaz Dress and Tanner Dress are some other cute dress options from the new Monaco collection, and how cute is the model's top knot - seriously chic.

I want this Cedar Street Maise purse in literally 5 different colors - love the structure, size, and all of the gorgeous colors.

I tried on the Goreski Glasses Bangle at the store today (for like the fifth time), and am wishing I had bought it - it's just such a fun, unique statement piece.

Honorable mentions: Jackie Capri and Broome Street Denim (best jeans ever).

Have you bought anything from the Friends & Family sale?
